mysterious swinging light

Image
A little glimpse into the mischief my littlest likes to pull off.  He was sitting at the table finishing up a snack and I left the kitchen for maybe forty seconds to get a load of laundry started.  I came back into the kitchen to notice the light fixture swinging above the table.  the older two were upstairs playing so there was only one culprit....who insisted it wasn't him.  all I can figure is that he climbed out of his chair, onto the table, gave the light a good swat, and then got back into his chair, sat down, and acted like nothing had ever happened.  oh dear.  he also eats sweet corn like a man.  which is hilarious.   needless to say, it's been awhile since we've had to fix ourselves up and attend a formal dinner. I was literally shaking the dust off of hubby's suit.  ha!  But thanks to a good friend being honored on Thursday night, we had a good excuse to get dressed up and enjoy a fun evening together.   And then again!  two nights out in

summer fun

We are in full summer swing, and I'm loving it.  I love having a more relaxed morning schedule.  A much needed break from the morning rush of early breakfasts, packing lunches, cramming spelling words and addition and subtraction problems, catching the bus, getting to preschool, and on and on it goes.  While I've finally come to terms with the fact that my boys are incapable of sleeping in, it's still nice for them to be able to stay in their pj's until at least 8 or so :).  A lot of our time has been spent at the pool these last two weeks.  We've had morning swim lessons and then we tend to linger for awhile after.  No better place to be when it's hot and humid.  Luke is even getting a few lessons! Chase wrapped up his baseball season last week.  He was sad to see it end but the sadness was balanced out by the extreme excitement of receiving his trophy.  His coach hosted a team party and Chase loved every minute. Jack has a few more games to go b

see you later first grade

First grade is in the books for this guy.  Yesterday was his last day.   He made straight A's once again this last quarter and nailed his final project... We are so proud of him and all that he has learned and accomplished this year.  Great job Jack! I'm loving my summer blooms! Baseball season is winding down and it's been a crazy busy, but very fun season for both of these guys This one is currently into saying "CHEESE!" and taking selfies :) so cute and when an afternoon on the boat gets rained out, what better thing is there to do!?  Oh joys of being a kid! Happy first day of summer vacation to us!  may we make lots of fun memories without driving each other too crazy!  :)  and away we go......!

latest and greatest

This little guy can get himself into the craziest places.  I found him here, in the art easel the other day, completely stuck and unable to get out....yet thinking it was the funniest thing ever.  oh Luke! The boys have made some new friends.  They found two toads in the garden over the weekend.  They have made them homes, they are giving them grass and water, and Chase is convinced they will live forever.  I give it a week :) The garden is doing great (thanks to lots of hard work from daddy) and making two little boys very happy.   I am so proud of Jack and all the hard work he put into his very first research project for school.  Each student was assigned a mammal to read and learn about.  Here he is practicing for his presentation.  i just love it :)

Sunday night was a very special night.  Our second born son asked Jesus into his heart. :)  Over the last year we have answered lots of questions, asked him lots of questions, and have watched his young mind process the overwhelming concept of Christ's love for him.  And after our bedtime devotions on Sunday night, he was ready.  Tears filled my eyes with joy as he prayed with his daddy...with his voice full of all the confidence in the world.  May 31, 2015.  The day that marks the beginning of what I pray will be his lifelong journey of serving our wonderful Lord and Savior. What an amazing moment.
