just breathe

Image
Deep breath in.  Deep breath out.  Deep breath in.  Deep breath out.  two weeks from today.  Deep breath in.  Chase goes to kindergarten.  Deep breath out.  He still seems to be perfectly fine with it all. Mommy, however.  not so fine.  I really thought I would be handling this better with the second child. WRONG!  so now I'm realizing, it doesn't matter that we've done this before with another child.  This child....this sweet boy, with beautiful blue eyes, who loves hugs and sports equally, and who is one of the coolest kids I know....this child....I've never had to let him go.  So it's like doing it all over again for the first time.  And I'm counting down the days.  My life will be drastically different 2 weeks from now. And we will find a new groove....we will adjust and everyone will survive the transition.  But until we find that groove........Deep breath in.  Deep breath out.  :) Chase still is my best kitchen helper.  We love to suit up in our aprons

garden season

there is one word that comes to mind when I think of last week....two words actually.....Green Beans! Our plants produced wonderfully and our freezer is full.  Now we are picking and picking and giving and giving.  So if you are in the market for some green beans, just let me know :)  Watching Jack deliver his produce to our friends and family is one of my favorite things about our garden.   He was very helpful this year with the freezing process.  Makes things much easier for mommy to have an extra set of hands.   could he be any cuter?  He found this tie in the back of one of his dresser drawers on Monday of last week.  He informed me that he wanted to wear it on Sunday.  So he neatly placed it on the nightstand beside his bed and counted down the days until Sunday finally came.  He was so proud to walk into church with his tie on......never mind the fact that it's about 2 inches too short!  cousins are the greatest.  especially when they are almost two

This boy....

This boy is something else.  Yesterday, one of his dreams came true.  He got to spray weed killer all by himself.  and yes, I realize the oddity of that statement.  But that's my Jack.  He has been begging and begging to have the spraying job...and yesterday he finally got it.  he was a happy, happy boy :) He also finished up his baseball season last week.  He held the lead-off batting position all season.  So fun to watch him start things off each game. proud of you Jack! We had a great 4th of July weekend with Gramps and Grandma.  Croquet, pool, park, games....lots of fun.  Thanks for making the trip!
