Christmas morning moment

Image
When you are a stay-at-home mom to 3 little boys, even the smallest things can feel like a grand present on Christmas morning.  I had a Christmas morning moment on Monday morning when I found myself with 30 minutes of time.....ALONE....during the beautiful daylight hours.  Daddy came home from work to take the older two strawberry picking for about an hour.  Luke was looking sleepy and, miracle of all miracles, I was able to get him to go down for a morning nap.  So there I was....with a little time to do whatever I wanted to do.  So I grabbed my lounger chair, Bible, and devotional, and headed to the back porch.  Lounging, quietness, sunshine, and the Word of God......ahhh yes, it was a refresher for my soul.   And the boys very proudly came home with 10 quarts of freshly picked berries!  Delicious! Everything seems to be happening so fast with my little one. He's gone from crawling to pulling himself up and attempting to walk along things...the sofa, the hearth, th

Happy Memorial Day!  We are coming off a crazy week of lots of activities and fun.  Chase wrapped up his year at preschool with a sweet program and a school festival.  Jack participated in his first field day at school and had a wonderful Memorial Day program and parade.  Thank goodness Luke is a go-with-the-flow baby.  He probably wakes up each morning thinking..."where oh where is mommy going to take me today?" Guess that's the life of a third born.  :) Kindergarten field day!  We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day to enjoy all the outdoor fun It's official.....he's crawling!!  and trying so hard to keep up with those big brothers Chase was so excited for his school program.  He did such a great job.  So proud of my boy!! And a big thank you to Chase's teachers....for blessing us with a new addition to the family.  Each student received a nice little fish for "O Fish ally" completing the 3-4 year old class.  very

Oh teeth

This is the stage of teeth.  Teeth coming in, teeth going out.....the confusion of the middle child wondering why nothing is going on with his teeth.  :)  bless him.  I'm happy to report that after weeks of drooling, chewing, and more drooling....this little guy has two bottom teeth. Yes, we still have the drooling and the chewing, but at least we have the teeth to show for it.  :)  And Jack can't seem to keep teeth in his mouth.  He came home from school yesterday with another gap and another little tooth case around his neck.  He thinks it's so awesome that he is getting so many "grown up" teeth.  To a 6 year old, who most days verbalizes that he "just wants to be a grown up", it's a step in the right direction.   And this I just love.  I came into the family room last night to find our family portrait, as seen through the eyes of my four year old.  Here we are, all five of us.  I think it's absolutely perfect. :)   While

Hooray for Moms

Happy Mother's Day a day late to all the moms out there!  I am so blessed to have the world's greatest mom and mother-in-law.  I can't imagine going through life and my own journey of motherhood without their constant love, support, and encouragement.  I love you both so very much! I celebrated Mother's Day a few days early with Jack.  His class hosted a Mother's Day Tea on Friday.  Cutest. Thing. Ever.  Complete with tissue paper wrist corsages, tea and crumpets, homemade cards, and a musical concert.  He was so excited for my visit.  Made my heart so full. I'm also enjoying my bouquet of handpicked "flowers" that I received yesterday....who would ever think that a handful of weeds could bring me so much joy :) In other happenings, Jack's garden is in full swing.  Rumor had it that we were downsizing from last year.  hmmmm......let me just be the first to say.....that is not a true statement.  just as big, just as many we

Cheers for spring!!

One of the many, many reasons why I love warm weather..... there just really is no good reason to be inside.  And it seems everyone is happier when we are outside.  So thankful for outside play time and meals at the picnic table.   And just to make you smile, the many faces of Luke.... Happy Wednesday!

Opening Day

I really think Saturday may have been the happiest day of Chase's life.  Opening Day of Seaford Little League.  And he was finally old enough to be on a team!!  Chase loves sports.  all sports.  Football is probably at the top of the list.  But since you need to at least be 9 years old before they let you wear pads and helmets and go tackle someone.......T ball and soccer are a close second.  Jack likes T-ball.  He thinks its fun, he's even quite good at it.....he would just much rather go to work at the farm :)  Chase loves T-ball.  He loves everything about it.  He loves his jersey, his pants, his socks, his hat, his cleats, his bag full of all his gear.  And I love that he loves these things.  It's about the cutest thing ever for a mommy to witness.  Needless to say when we woke him up at 6am on Saturday morning....yes, crazy I know....to get to the ball park for 6:30am pictures....he popped out of bed proclaiming, "It's T-ball day!".  And a great day it wa
Last night we were going through our normal routine.....baths for all 3 boys...older boys to bed....i collapse on the recliner with Luke to give him his bottle....I reach for my iPad to do my catching up on the day's news with the USA today app....Jack needs to use the bathroom....he asks...I tell him to go...Chase is already sound asleep and snoring....our routine...all things going as they normally do....until Jack makes his walk back from the bathroom.  Usually he leans over the railing and says "good night mommy! Love you!".  But last night he notices I'm watching a video clip on my iPad. "What are you watching mommy?"..."just a clip of something", I tell him...."well is it good?", he asks.  Not quite sure how to respond, since it was just a clip about America's most popular retail stores, I say "yes, it's good".  "But is it good for God?", he asks.  Well that caught me off guard. In his own way my 6 year o
