the third one's visit was not a charm

When it comes to your third child, some things really are just easier....giving up bottles, moving out of the highchair, learning to crawl and walk, moving into a big boy bed, and even potty training.  All things that he is eager to do all because his main goal in life right now is to be like his big brothers.  To that I say "Great!".  makes things a little easier for mom.  Well let me tell you about a time when this did not apply.  as in, not even close.  as in, it did not matter one single bit that it was something his big brothers do all the time.  the dentist.  Needless to say, his first visit did not go as I expected.  He has been to the office many times and watched as the older two went in for their visits and saw them coming out with new toothbrushes, prizes, and balloons.  What's not to love?!  I assumed, like with so many other things, this would be a pretty smooth experience.  Just one more thing he could do to be a big boy like his brothers.  We left the office two hours after we got there.  two. hours. for one cleaning of one very small mouth of teeth.  My sweater was stretched out almost beyond repair from the fist clenching...my ears were ringing from the screaming...and my poor little one's face was swollen and red with ears full of tears that had run down his face.  shew.  at least we got this commemorative button that all first time visitors receive.  Because that's definitely a day I want to remember.  Ha!  or not :)

In happier news...
Christmas morning!
cousin love
his dream came true when he opened a leaf blower
and then dreams were crushed as the Buckeyes were handed an ugly loss :(
and then dreams came true again when we got lots of snow over the weekend! and a snow day off of school today!
and goodness..he's just too cute.  our dentist office disaster is all forgiven :)

Happy 2017!
